It is a 4 days event and includes carnival rides for adults and children, a child's I.D. booth, food for the whole family, games, and many draws. This is one of our major fund raisers. Adopt a tree is
a program which promotes the planting of young trees
in Chippawa Lions Park. This planting takes place once each year in the
fall. At that time there is a brief dedication ceremony. This year the
dedication will take place in the Lions' park at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday,
October 14.
Members of the community purchase a tree and the city of Niagara
Falls
plants the tree in the park. Most trees are planted in memory of a
deceased
friend or relative. But anyone - or any group - can purchase and
dedicate a
tree for any reason.
Trees cost $175.00 or $350.00 (the former buys a tree about 8 ft.
high
and 1 in. diameter; the latter buys a tree about 12 t. high and 2 in.diameter).
A Senior Tour of Christmas Lights is held the first Friday in December. Buses are provided to take the seniors around the displays in the city. Afterward coffee, tea , and snack are provided at the community centre. This is a free event.
